If you thought it was hard to find the right gift for Mother’s Day, trust me when I say, Dad’s are not any easier to shop for.
Father’s Day is a special day to recognize fatherhood and celebrate the important fathers and father-figures in our lives. Remember to show extra thanks to all of the fathers out there on Sunday, June 18th.
While we all know how difficult it can be to get the ‘perfect’ gift for our loved ones, I’ve decided to share some gift ideas that are guaranteed to be a hit.
1. The Man Crate: Man Crates says ‘no’ to ugly neckties, cologne samplers, and executive trinkets. From knife-making kits to micro-brews, whiskey and woodworking, these are some of the best gift-crate (not baskets) ideas for men all around. Some, but not all of the gift-crates come delivered in a crate with a pry-bar! It doesn’t get more manly than that.
2. Take Them to Play: Does your Dad have a favorite hobby? Golfing, shooting, fishing, boating, hiking, swimming, biking? Whatever his hobby of choice is, spend some time doing that with him. Even if you don’t necessary like his chosen hobby, he’ll be grateful that you spent quality time with him doing what he loves to do.
3. The Driver: Trust me, your Dad does not have to be a car buff to like driving fast! There are several motor speedways where you can rent an exotic car and let him finally put the pedal-to-the-metal! This can be a terrific way to allow your dad to just ‘let loose’ for a few hours. Just be careful – you may end up at the sports car dealership afterwards.
4. Dad-Time: As much as Dad’s want to spend time with everyone, they would probably love some peace-and-quiet. Put a cold-one (beer) in one hand and the T.V. remote in the other and either cook/grill or order his favorite food. As much as they might not admit it, Dad’s need a little pampering too from time to time. And, if your Dad is a golf-lover, this plan won’t be too hard – the final round of the U.S. Open is on television Sunday afternoon!
These ideas should rid you of any panic that set in when you realize its Father’s Day this Sunday and you have yet to buy a gift. If nothing else, be sure to just say “thank you” to all the dads in your life. And, to all of the father’s out there, I would like to say – Happy Father’s Day. The role you have as a Father has more of an impact than many of you will ever know or understand.
Happy Father’s Day!
