What Type of “Risker” Are You?

Wouldn’t it be great if you could be like Scrooge McDuck and dive into a pile of gold and money? Or imagine if you could smile like the Lucky Leprechaun protecting his pot o’ gold! Some people see it as luck and others see it as strategy. At some point in both Scrooge McDuck’s and the Lucky Leprechaun’s life, they had some type of choice to make. If Scrooge McDuck never took that job as a cabin boy on the cattle ship that sailed to the United States, he would have never come to find that golden rock that was the size of a goose’s egg! If the Lucky Leprechaun didn’t take the time and effort to collect and protect his precious gold coins, he probably wouldn’t be as wealthy as he is today.

When it comes to making a choice or a decision, what kind of “Risker” are you?

So what’s a “Risker”? Well there are 3 different type of “Riskers”; Risk-Avoiders, Risk-Managers and Risk-Takers. Now, I’d like you to ask yourself; which kind of “Risker” are you? When you read the scenario below, ask yourself, what would I do?

“…You’re walking through the forest on your daily hike. It’s a brisk but comfortable morning. You can smell the soft, sweet and refreshing terpenes from the pine trees. Dew glistens on the forest floor and the robins and mourning doves are singing their all too familiar tune. After stepping passed the tree-line, the warmth of the sun hits your face and it feels like the perfect-morning. As you continue you’re morning hike, you notice from a distance that something is different. As you cautiously approach, you notice the bridge leading across the river has collapsed! This is the only way to get across the flowing river to continue on your path! With one hand on your hip and the other scratching the top of your head, you decide that you’re going to…”

1. Say “No way!”; turn around and find a different path with no obstructions to continue your hike; known as a Risk-Avoider

2. Find a bunch of timber and build yourself a bridge to continue on the same path; known as a Risk-Manager

3. “Who needs a bridge?” Get a running start, sprint as fast as you can and jump over the river; known as a Risk-Taker

Here’s the thing folks, neither of three is a right nor wrong answer. Finding the no-longer existent or collapsed bridge on your path can be like a “life-event”. It can be something like; selling your home, investing more of your money or deciding when the best time to retire is. And when that “life-event” occurs, you’ll have to make a choice.

Whatever type of “Risker” you are, i’ll always show you the pros and cons of each choice. We’ll make sure it best suits you and your financial-path for now and in the future. Furthermore and most importantly, I want you to know I’ll be there to help navigate and guide the way. So if you want to find a safer path, build a bridge together or take a (strategic) leap across, I’ll be right there with you.

So…What type of “Risker” are you?! Send me your answers! I’m looking forward to hearing back from you!
